TeamViewer - Helps You Get Help
This is just a short little notice letting you all know about a neat little program called TeamViewer. TeamViewer can be downloaded from here.
What TeamViewer allows you to do is allow someone else to remotely control your computer. They will have full access to your computer, moving your mouse, typing, etc. This can be extremely helpful for getting technical assistance, especially if you aren't very tech savy.
I recommend downloading the "Quick Support" version, as it does not require an install, and has all the main features of the "full" version of TeamViewer. You can download the Quick Support version for Windows and Mac.
When you first run TeamViewer, you will be greeted with a screen with 2 options, Install, or Run. You should select Run, unless of course you want to install the program. Accept the terms, now you will see the main screen of TeamViewer.

Using TeamViewer is very simple. If you are the one requesting help, give your friend (who also has TeamViewer) your session ID and password. It is important that you do not touch the mouse or keyboard while your friend is connected, as your mouse movements and keystrokes override theirs. This can be helpful if they are snooping through files, but it becomes very annoying while they are trying to help.
However, if you are the one giving help, ask your friend for their ID and password. Now, make sure that remote control is checked and enter their ID into the box. After clicking connect to partner you will be prompted for the password. Once you are connected, you have complete control of their computer.
I would like to finish by offering my services to any of those that would like it. Just leave a comment and we can set up a day/time where I can connect to you using TeamViewer and help fix a computer problem that you may have.
